Hi Cindy, Thank you for your patience and for trying all the ideas so far. I'm looking online for a cheap flight to bring a pen drive out if this doesnt work! ;-) ;-).

I've put a small file on a another server and domain that apparently is not currently being blocked by China - see image below.

Can you please try this link: click to open it's a direct download to see if this small video comes through, if so we can try the larger files on the same server.

The other thing to try is to force a download then change the file name. Can we see if it is a domain problem or file naming issue?

Click to Download is the same file but with a pdf suffix, this should not try to open the file but just download it.

This bypass works on all browsers except Internet Explorer. If you get the pdf file successfully, simply rename it to it to the-write-place-video.mp4

and it should open locally. Let me know how you get on, I have my passport.
